Mixed Media and
Collage Artist
Carol Eichler
Carol Eichler's artist statement:
I always wanted to make beautiful art, but never did anything to
learn about art until I retired from a very high pressure job in corporate America.
My "artsy" side reared its head from time to time over the years and I would always beat it down because there was just not enough time in my life to be an insurance executive, a perfect homemaker, a wife
and an artist.
After retirement, my husband and I began looking for a place to settle. Neither of us wanted to return to our hometowns in California, nor did we want to stay in the Seattle area. We investigated several parts of the U.S. and even New Zealand before deciding to settle in Sequim, Washington, on the beautiful North Olympic Peninsula.
We've been here long enough for me to pursue a self-directed course of studies. My objective is to create something dramatic and stunning that forces people to stop in their tracks and take in the terrain of the piece. I want the viewer to find interesting places to stop and consider the work. I hope the viewer loves my work, but if he just stops and looks, I have achieved my objective.
I am locally represented by The Blue Whole Gallery in Sequim,
Washington.
